A Beer Built for the Back Nine
project overview
Ball Washer Blonde Lager is a golf-inspired craft beer created for players, spectators, and anyone who enjoys a good round with a cold beer in hand. The collaboration brings together the culture of the course with the personality of a local craft brewery.
The challenge was creating a brand identity that felt authentic to golf while avoiding the traditional, overly serious approach often associated with the sport.
The goal was to create a memorable beer brand with a strong personality, a recognizable visual system, and packaging that would stand out both on and off the course.

Brand applications
Golf has a rich visual history, but much of the category leans heavily into tradition, luxury and formality.
Ball Washer needed a different approach.
The challenge was shifting the perception from "A beer made for golfers" to "A beer that captures the attitude and culture of the game."
The identity needed to feel approachable, fun, and confident while still appealing to golfers and craft beer drinkers alike.
the challenge
the idea
Golf is about more than the scorecard.
It is the conversations between holes, the unexpected moments, and the traditions built around the game.
The brand was designed around that spirit: playful, social, and a little unconventional.
By embracing the humor behind the name and leaning into golf culture, Ball Washer became more than a beverage. It became a personality.
the visual direction
The visual identity combined classic golf references with a modern, irreverent edge.
The design system used bold typography, custom illustration and playful details to create a brand that felt nostalgic while still feeling fresh.
The packaging was designed to capture attention, communicate personality, and create an experience that felt just as enjoyable as the beer itself.
The identity was designed to extend across multiple touchpoints, including packaging, promotional materials, digital applications, and merchandise.
Each element reinforced the same idea: golf does not always have to take itself so seriously.
the results
The Ball Washer Blonde Lager identity created a memorable presence within the craft beer and golf communities.
Results included:
A distinctive brand identity with strong shelf presence
A brand experience that connected with both golfers and craft beer audiences
